Employers here work hard to ensure their workforce are happy and content and carry out regular job appraisals and reviews; there are normally procedures or services in place for employees that may be experiencing difficulty in coping with work or home related issues.  They are also legally bound to meet employee’s rights by issuing a Contract of Employment that describes the full terms and conditions of your job role including payment, working time, rest breaks, holiday entitlement, leave entitlement for sickness, maternity, paternity, dependent care/bereavement, disciplinary and grievance procedures and how they deal with equality in the workplace.

All employees are automatically signed into a Company Pension Scheme that will allow them to contribute to a tax-free investment/ savings pot for the future, these plans normally have added life insurance, employees can opt out of these schemes if they wish.

Northern Ireland has an independent body that provides services to employees and employers, they offer resources support and mediation services for employment related topics.
